The Absent Grotesque Font
Not all fonts are created equally.

Screw Head Classifications
It’s taken me a lifetime to figure out what the hell a Philips screwdriver looks like, don’t even get me started with the weird ones like Tri-Wing, Clutch and Quadrex. Seriously, who’s the numb nut picking all these screw ball names given to screw drivers.
Hopefully this chart will help you like it’s helped me.

Metal Logos
I’m starting to wonder if there’s some unwritten law preventing metal bands from being original. Hey metal bands, go crazy and design your logo using a Helvetica font for shits and giggles.

Architecture: The Buddha Bar
I was blown away today by the work done by Dupoux Design on New York City’s Buddha Bar. I’m guessing it’s not the type of joint that offers a Happy Hour 2 for 1 Bud Lite special.

Retro Hungarian Matchbooks
At times great design goes up in smoke, featuring a really cool collection of retro Hungarian matchbook covers.
Picasso’s Perky Wheels
Inspired by the work of painter Pablo Picasso, Andy Saunders a 44-year-old mechanic spent six months turning an aged Citroen 2CV into a cubist work of art.
“I decided to blur the line between car design and art by using Picasso as inspiration-said Mr Saunders, from Poole, Dorset.
“I studied Picasso and noticed that he used mainly primary colours and I’ve stuck with that for the car.
“I named it Picasso’s Citroen and I think it is much better than the Citroen Picasso, which is a boring people carrier.
“I think I know which one Pablo would have preferred.”
He says it is legally roadworthy for daytime use only, meaning it does not need traditional headlights or indicators because signals can be made with the hands.
He added: “I made all the new parts and have distorted the whole car so the more you look at it the more peculiar it becomes.
“It hasn’t lost any of its speed – it can still reach 65mph. Eventually I hope to sell it and maybe it will be bought by the Tate Gallery or the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
Cool looking car, but will the ladies dig it?
