What is pop culture?

Popular culture (or pop culture) is the culture — patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activities significance and importance — which are popular, well-liked or common. This is often defined or determined by the mass media that we consume everyday. It can include any number of practices, including those pertaining to fashion, consumption, film, mass media and the many facets of entertainment such as sports, music and literature.

Today, most adults, their kids and grandchildren “participate” in pop culture directly or indirectly.

Who is Zoice?

Zoice was started up in August 2008 by former MTV / Tom Green Show personality Glenn Humplik. It’s a collaborative effort by him and some friends he is extorting. The list includes John Sekerka, Phil Nakis and the mysterious Kerri who is also helping out as an editor. Others will be joining the fold in weeks to come.

How often does Zoice publish stories?

We are aiming to publish new stories daily on weekdays. Weekends will be spent drinking heavily, contemplating on life and thinking of new ideas for the upcoming week. There may be exceptions to the daily rule as Zoice is a labor of love we work on outside of our full time gigs.

Can I contribute to Zoice?

Absolutely, if you have a quirky story / video / audio / photo / art that you think would be cool for our readers send us a link by email. For various reasons we may not use it (already featured, cool but doesn’t quite fit, it sucks) but we’ll certainly take a look and consider it.

Can I sponsor and/or buy advertising on Zoice?

Of course, money is always a good thing to pay the bills, eat food and buy martinis at chi-chi lounges. Drop us a note and let’s talk. We should have some kind of automatic mechanism in place at a later date for potential sponsors to be buy space and be seen on the site.

Is everything published on Zoice true?

Absolutely not. You are a fool if you think otherwise.
